parliamentary elections in 1949

On 14 August 1949 found in the Federal Republic of Germany held the first parliamentary elections after the Second World War.

The Federal Republic Germany was constituted on 23 May 1949, the Soviet occupation zone on 7 October 1949 to declare a state.

The government was appointed by the President and had the confidence of Parliament (and thus the voters' will) subject.


judiciary

The State Supreme Court (as the Supreme Court) was appointed by the President.

75 years ago, died Paul von Hindenburg

The German Reich President Paul von Hindenburg (Chief of Staff of the German army in World War II) died on 2 August 1934.

Adolf Hitler, whom he 30 January 1933 German Chancellor had appointed to be his successor.

Hitler is not only Chancellor of the German Empire, but also its president. Thanks to the fraudulently obtained authorization law, which the Nazi government could adopt laws since March 1933, at which time Hitler's absolute ruler of the German Empire and can have "Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor" call.

90 years ago end of the Hungarian Soviet Republic

On 1 August 1919 put troops in Czechoslovakia, Romania and Serbia, the Hungarian Soviet Republic under the leadership of Béla Kun an end.

The Hungarian Communists collapsed on 21 On 16 March 1919 November 1918 used Government of the Republic of Hungary under Minister President Count Mihály Károlyi . Led by the Communists and Socialists Soviet Republic proclaimed Soviet-style nationalized banks, industrial and agricultural goods.

When the Hungarian Red Army marched in Slovakia in order there as well to promote the formation of a Soviet republic, marched the three above-mentioned States with the approval of the Allied powers in World War II in Hungary.
