In "The pothole," he tells about the life of Gaucys Jiuozapas, who grows up away from civilization in a small village on the edge between highway and railway tracks. Gaucys is a dreamer who loves nature and has few friends. But it is the most reliable person in the world. Later, in the city school, it opens a new world, he discovered reading and dreaming of the university. But the death of his best friend Gaucys completely throws off the track, he feels guilty, even if no one reproaches him.
Gaucys logs for a construction and assembly plant in Klaipeda. What he experienced there, like a nightmare. The dorm is more of a hut: violence, theft, alcohol and all-embracing lawlessness have all human relationships, even between the sexes and to children, brutalized and destroyed. Luksa was instrumental in establishing the work of the Partisan Press Tauras district in the southwest part of Lithuania and recorded as an editor of two partisan newspapers. On behalf of the guerrilla leadership, he broke with his comrades twice that of the Soviets hermetically sealed-off border with Poland. The second time he fought on through to the west. Among others, he wore a memorandum to the UN and a letter to the Pope with the Lithuanians themselves. 1948 to 1950, he wrote in Paris in his autobiographical novel "partisan" and sought contact with Western intelligence agencies. He hoped by the West for military support to the freedom struggle of the Lithuanians. In Paris, the Lithuanian immigrant learned Luksa Nijolė Bražėnaite, whom he married in late July 1950 at Tübingen. In October 1950, he jumped with a parachute over western Lithuania. After another year of partisan warfare and information gathering for Western intelligence agencies in September 1951 he was killed in an ambush life.
